Investor Support
February at Padure Manor was full of events. We concluded the crowdfunding campaign, which attracted 108 investors, raising a total of €69,840. This is a significant step in the restoration of the manor, and we have already begun the first phase of work – construction teams have started the necessary improvements to make the manor even more accessible and comfortable.
The First True Winter
After weeks of grey and wet weather, winter finally arrived in February with proper frost. The manor park was covered in snow, creating a true winter fairy tale for our guests. While the cold made us think more about heating, it also added a special charm that perfectly suits the historical setting.
Restoration Work Has Begun
After thorough planning, we have launched construction work. The main tasks at hand are building a restroom on the first floor, improving the sewage system and electricity, and other practical upgrades that will make the manor more comfortable for visitors and event organizers. Together with Artūrs Lapiņš, we are working on architectural solutions, and in the near future, we will be selecting bathtubs, toilets, and sinks to keep the renovation moving forward.
Guests and Events
Although February is not the peak tourist season, we welcomed guests on weekends who enjoyed the tranquility, winter scenery, and historic atmosphere. Airbnb bookings continue, and we have even received an inquiry about a retreat at the end of July.
February was also a time to actively plan this year’s events, including wedding and birthday reservations, guided tours, and dinners with the manor lord.
Ideas and Future Plans
In addition to daily tasks, February brought several new ideas. One of them is placing a banner at the end of the manor’s linden alley, which, if reached by a hot air balloon, grants a free stay at the manor and a bottle of local Smilškalni wine. We are also considering thematic events, such as a cigar club, auctions, and charity events that would take place once per quarter, as well as launching culinary masterclasses.
What’s Next?
In the coming months, our work will focus on:
- Attracting investors, including major investors,
- Developing guided tours and overnight stay offers,
- Art exhibitions – this summer, we will showcase works by Atis Jākobsons, Laura Buholte, and Alīna Burlakova,
- Preparing for the Spring Cleanup, which will take place on April 26 at 10:00 AM.
February was a significant month – we concluded one chapter and began a new one. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported us! We are eagerly looking forward to spring and new achievements at Padure Manor – and we look forward to welcoming you here as well!
